Moonsama’s 2023 Highlights

In 2023, Moonsama made significant advancements that are the foundation for what’s coming in 2024. Moonsama is now a robust GameFi ecosystem across multiple ecosystems, including Ethereum, Beam, Polkadot and Polygon, with an exceptional community and an extensive portfolio of products built for the GameFi industry. The past two years have been an important learning curve for Moonsama, positioning us in a prime spot for the future.
The Community
At Moonsama, our community is our greatest asset. This collective strength led to the formation of the Moonsama Senate, a 13-member council that serves as a bridge between our core team and the community. The Senate plays a vital role in gathering feedback and offering input from the community’s perspective on product development. The Senate is led by Moonsama’s co-founder and the President of the DAO, Donnie.
Migration from POOP to SAMA
2023 began by migrating from the POOP token to the SAMA token. This change was made and voted in by the community with the goal to deploy SAMA where it can achieve its peak performance. Thanks to the migration to Ethereum, SAMA can now access Ethereum’s extensive amount of liquidity and dApps, making accessing our token easier.
The SAMA token was born from our vision for creating an engaged and rewarding GameFi ecosystem. With over 15,000 wallet addresses and a million transactions on the Exosama Network, SAMA’s role is fundamental for the growth and functionality of Moonsama’s offerings. We are also currently exploring various ideas on how to make accessing the token even more easier.
Multiverse Portal
The Multiverse Portal, the most critical product of the Moonsama ecosystem, experienced significant advancements in 2023. This portal acts as the interface for connecting on-chain assets with Portal-connected off-chain applications.
This year’s main developments include introducing a new interface, staking functionality and Portal Domain system. The introduction of the Portal Domain system allows external teams to host their own instances of the Multiverse Portal.
A key feature of the Multiverse Portal is its ability to link NFTs across different gaming environments and blockchains including Exosama Network, Moonriver, Moonbeam, Ethereum, Polygon and Beam. The Multiverse Portal is completely chain-agnostic to accommodate assets from all networks.
Dremica
Dremica, a standalone open-world MMORPG, is a recently released game built on top of Moonsama. By utilizing Moonsama’s tech stack, Dremica can offer users a seamless and secure gaming interface without compromises and most importantly, ship their product to the market faster.
The demand for Dremica has been substantial, as can be seen on our staking campaigns. The community’s commitment of over 270 million SAMA and over 600 Exosamas being staked is a sign of an impressive amount of interest for the launch of the game. We are proud to welcome Dremica to Moonsama!
Growth of Raresama
2023 was an exceptional year for Raresama, Moonsama’s community-governed NFT marketplace. Raresama achieved a substantial volume of over 60,000,000 SAMA and facilitated the exchange of thousands of different NFTs, offering artists a platform to unleash their creativity and collectors a way to get unique art pieces. Raresama also got featured in a Binance’s research paper, an acknowledgment of its influence in the Polkadot ecosystem and beyond.
Looking ahead, Moonsama is committed to iterating and improving the platform which is known for its user-friendly interface. Planned updates include expanding the selection of integrated blockchains, providing further support for creators and adding more features for the users.
Public and Beat Pressure
Earlier this year, we were offered the opportunity to integrate our tech stack into a new music rhythm game. Moonsama took the opportunity to give more utility to the NFTs within Public Pressure’s marketplace and offer a seamless way to log in to the game. Later on Beat Pressure has hosted numerous tournaments, with the most notable being Public Pressure’s and Diesel’s NFT collection ones. The tournaments reached hundreds of players and we’re thankful for the support. Lastly, those of you who got PODs, make sure not to miss out the recent announcement of W3M!
Winning a Polkadot Parachain
In April 2023, Moonsama secured Parachain Slot 3334 on Polkadot. We are currently preparing to launch the claiming of crowdloan rewards in January 2024. Our parachain, Moonsama Network, will benefit our ecosystem with improved security and interoperability within the Polkadot ecosystem, positioning us to capture value from Polkadot’s rising GameFi scene and its rising DeFi scene with the launch of Snowbridge, a trustless bridge between Polkadot and Ethereum!
Multiverse Customizer
The introduction of the Multiverse Customizer brought utility to our NFTs by enabling users to personalize their in-game avatars and showcase their acquired NFTs. This tool also allows users to export tailored cutouts for various social media platforms such as Twitter and Telegram, which has been widely utilized by the community.
The Multiverse Customizer also received an update allowing customizations made within the Customizer to relay within the Portal-connected game, Carnage, with more games and metaverses on the horizon.
Conservation Efforts
In 2023, Moonsama’s collaboration with the Sovereign Nature Initiative (SNI) and the Kenya Wildlife Trust (KWT) generated a lot of interest, with over $70,000 raised for charity purposes in wildlife conservation in Kenya, demonstrating the potential of blockchain technology used in supporting socio-ecological causes.
Our collaboration with SNI and KWT led to the development of Wildsama, an upcoming metaverse experience where players can interact with their Lion NFTs. These NFTs mirror their real lion counterparts and will soon evolve from cubs to adults, with a tailored experience built for them scheduled to launch in the near future.
Gaming
Unveiled on our 2nd anniversary, Moonsama Metaverse aims to be the experience where personalized avatars socialize across customizable apartments, event spaces and activity zones. The game features multiple explorable areas exhibiting our capabilities, including but not limited to, user-generated arcade games and possibilities of third-party service integrations. Positioned as the convergence point for our gaming ecosystems, the Moonsama Metaverse is designed as a living environment that evolves based on user participation.
With plans to incorporate ecosystem assets into interactive experiences, it represents the de facto experience giving utility to all the assets within Moonsama. It is now the main priority in our gaming development.
Exosama: BreakOut — We unveiled Exosama: BreakOut, a 3D fighting game showcasing Exosama battles across Nova City. The development of Exosama assets and animations serves as a foundation for integrating them into metaverse environments. The public release is expected to happen in the first quarter of 2024.
Pondsama — Our classic ‘fishing’ title Pondsama is getting a revamp led by our new team member, experienced game developer Nic, to make the experience even better. We are preparing to welcome the community into a new world of Pondsama, a gaming experience that welcomes all newcomers, from all skill levels, while retaining enough challenge to appeal to its seasoned players.
We’re also excited about Gromlin Kart being on its final paces. Gromlin Kart will have its own tournament-based economy that is set to be launched with multiplayer competition in early 2024.
In the last quarter, Moonsama undertook a significant strategic shift to streamline its ecosystem. Moonsama voted on reprioritizing its products to focus more on its key products, while temporarily putting some products into maintenance mode. This move, supported by the community, prioritized the development of our games and the infrastructure surrounding them.
Next Steps
Moonsama is at the forefront of the GameFi revolution within Web3, and we are more excited than ever about what the future holds. We firmly believe that gaming is the gateway to mainstream adoption, and we’ve designed all our products to be not only chain-agnostic but also user-friendly to ensure a seamless user experience. This is why we’ve made numerous improvements across all our existing products to make navigating our products easier.
In 2024, we anticipate the Multiverse Portal and the rest of the infrastructure with our current and upcoming games to be pivotal in Moonsama’s growth. We are also working on refining our $SAMA tokenomics and governance model to better serve our holders and fit the more advanced-phase Moonsama.
We are also excited to see the rise of Avalanche’s and Polygon’s already robust gaming scene, with Polkadot’s young and rising gaming ecosystem having seen major developments this year. The future is multi-chain and so is Moonsama.
