The Moonsama 2.0 artwork was led by illustrator Justine Cruz, known for his work on Magic: The Gathering.
The new Moonsama customizer allows you to equip different NFT weapons, backgrounds, off-hands, cosmetics and more to your Moonsama. NFT composability is done by our Multiverse Bridge, a substrate that connects multi-chain NFT assets to different integrated metaverses.
All saved configurations are publicly available through our 2.0 API which is wired to the Moonsama marketplace. When you save a Moonsama config, the image on the marketplace changes too. The backend also reconstructs the layers and stores the layered image in addition to the 2.0 metadata.
Multi-chain focus

The key advantage to our multiverse bridge over other NFT 2.0 protocols is that we can integrate different NFT standards (e.g ERC1155/ERC721/RMRK) and utilize NFT assets from multiple blockchains (Moonriver, Moonbeam, Ethereum and more planned). The future is multi-chain and Moonsama’s multiverse bridge is key to unlocking NFT interoperability.
Our original NFTs remain immutable. In our 2.0 standard, NFTs have an additional mutable/dynamic component that changes when customized.
Equipable NFTs are crafted by players via their involvement in Metaverses. The first metaverse integrated into Moonsama’s multiverse bridge was Minecraft. In this 3D sandbox game players import their Moonsama NFTs as player skins and export obtained resources to their web3 wallet used for NFT crafting.
What’s next for Moonsama
Moonsama was originally launched on September 21st, 2021 by members of the Moonriver community. In the following months it has become the leading NFT project within the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem by market capitalization.
Within the next weeks we will see the MVP launch of Pondsama, a browser-based metaverse utilizing Metaponds (Metaverse fish ponds). NFT fish are crafted using resources gathered during Moonsama’s weekly “Carnage” event and players can battle each other via a 5v5 turn-based format to obtain on-chain rewards.
We will also integrate with KILT Protocol, where SocialKYC will be our decentralized identity verification when accessing the multiverse bridge.
Moonsama will also showcase an upcoming equipable multiverse NFT which gives utility to audio NFTs within metaverses. We are building this with our partners Public Pressure, an upcoming web3 music platform founded by Sergio Mottola and Francesca Versace.

Launching in September 2022 is Exosama, an extension of the Moonsama universe. 10,000 EXO NFTs that exist on the Ethereum blockchain and their composability occur on Polkadot via the Moonsama multiverse bridge.
