The Pondsama alpha test is now live, users can challenge each other on Telegram to epic 5v5 fish battles using their NFTs on Moonriver Network.

An important milestone for Moonsama as this utilises the Moonsama Battle Engine, a modular Web3 gaming component that allows seamless integrations of multi-chain assets and games into different metaverses. “If it can work in a command line, it can work in any metaverse”.

Getting ready for battle

Over the past months the Moonsama community came together every Sunday at 4pm UTC for “Moonsama Carnage. A metaverse event where uses try to obtain on-chain resources such as Wood, Stone, Iron and Gold which then get sent to their Web3 wallet.

Using those resources nearly 10.000 NFT fish have been minted and are ready for battle. The basics are simple, obtain the minimum requirement of 5 Pondsama Fish. Players can craft their own Pondsamas on Moonsama’s Workbench when you have a sufficient amount of resources, or you can acquire a full team from other players on Moonsama’s Marketplace.

Your Metapond (browser based metaverse fish pond) will be created automatically when you log in to Pondsama for the first time. Interacting with the Moonsama Bot on Telegram (@msamabot) will assist you in the process of setting up your team, participating in fights, and more. Drag-and-drop your Pondsama NFTs into the ponds and watch them come to life. During the Pondsama Alpha, only 3 species are available.

The fights are powered by the Moonsama Battle Engine. Battles play out similar to an auto-chess system using customizable, complex actions. It manages AI according to a given rule set, keeps track of actions with persistent effects on the game even after their initial trigger and can manage and gracefully resolve situations arising from combinations of various actions even the designers didn’t think of.

The greatest strength of the engine is its modular nature, coupled with a standardized, easily understandable and powerful configuration structure. In the future we will use the Battle Engine in other metaverses and will open it up for use by other Web3 projects.

Pondsama is designed to be so simple to play but difficult to master. There’s currently:

– 3 breeds (damage/tank/support)

– 3 types (organic/infected/mecha)

– 4 stats (health/power/defense/speed)

– 12 natures (modifies base stats)

– 26 passive abilities

– 40 moves

Moonsama offhand NFTs also have utility within the battles. Choose a Moonbrella for a more defensive setup, or a Moonburger for additional healing each turn.

The backbone behind Pondsama is Moonsama’s Multiverse Bridge and Moonsama’s Workbench. Moonsama’s Multiverse Bridge makes it possible for NFTs to have different looks and utilities between different metaverses. Workbench is a backbone for our play-to-craft economy that lets us evolve any existing NFT into a new NFT, such as resources into Pondsama.

Pondsama is a heavily strategy-based game with over 400,000 possible combinations. The meta for each fight is different depending on your team and the team against you. It’s not as easy as simply choosing the best fish based on their stats for your team; everything from the breed of the fish to the moves it has matters, you should always pick a combination that compliments each other and counters your opponents team.

Keep an eye out for $POOP. A utility NFT that’s produced weekly by Pondsamas and might just be obtained via an upcoming leaderboard system. Poop utility includes; renting and borrowing Pondsamas, governance, DNA used for infecting and mechanizing fish and growing new organic life forms.

For those of you who want to prove yourself stay tuned for leaderboards, tournaments and rewards coming to Pondsama later. As usual to Moonsama, even if you don’t make it to the top placements, you will get rewarded so don’t worry about your fish getting beaten, go and have fun.

In our current time, Moonsamas, Exosamas and other allied races have managed to use the Carnage simulation to bring back to life the planet’s native aFish, who had been long extinct. Unbeknownst to the players, this has awoken an ancient power, who will now do whatever it takes to restore the planet’s marine life to its former glory.

Now, after thousands of years, the ancient city of Madelin has finally resurfaced. Pondsama will set players on a journey to uncover the secrets of the Sunken City of Madelin, and its mysterious ruler, the Sunken One.

Aid the ancient creature in its eternal quest, and fill your pockets with everything you manage to get your hands on. But be careful, that which was once sunken can surely sink again.

In the city of Madelin, we will have plots for everyone willing to fight and defend it from others. However, unlike regular land auctions, this one requires everyone to engage in the process to get one. More details about acquiring a land plot will follow later.
